Just four weeks since the local elections and the new North Northants Council has informed Desborough Town Council that it intends to sell 47 Station Road and the Tabernacle (Old Fire Station).

It looks like item number one on the agenda of the new council was ‘What do we own and what can we sell?’

This may not come as a surprise in view of the huge debts the council inherited from the now defunct Northamptonshire County Council. The same people, who bankrupted the County Council, are now in charge of the new council and it seems the policies haven’t changed.

Does anyone still believe that it was a bad idea to purchase Desborough Library?
