The Conservative Government has made it harder for many people to vote. There is no evidence to support this change to the rules, so you might question their motives.

The simplest way to vote is by post, go to –

Three things can stop your right to vote.

  1. You are not eligible or not on the register of electors.

  • Eligibility is based on age, you have to be 18 or over.
  • You have to be Registered. The last day to get registered for tis by election is 15th March Register to vote – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
  • Or visit your nearest NNC office.

2. You have no ID to produce at the Polling Station. A Suitable ID includes –

  • Normally a driving licence or passport. An older person’s bus pass. However, there are a number of other options that can be found at-

    Alternatively you can apply for a Voter Authority Certificate. This must be completed by 5pm Monday 25th March.

  • If you have not got access to a computer, visit your nearest NNC offices.

3. You cannot get to the polling station.
