How will you feel on Friday if the people who made such a mess of running our ancient Shire County are in charge of the new North Northants Council? Desborough Branch Labour Party
For years the Conservative-controlled Northamptonshire County Council boasted that they had one of the lowest levels of Council Tax in the country. This resulted in serious financial problems, cuts in services, selling off assets, job losses, and eventually (May 2018) the Government stepped in and appointed Commissioners to run the council.
As a result of Conservative incompetence the ancient shire county of Northamptonshire and seven Borough and District Councils have disappeared to be replaced by North Northamptonshire and West Northamptonshire Unitary Councils. The North will cover the areas of Corby, East Northants, Kettering and Wellingborough.
The Desborough Ward will elect three members to the new council and it includes the two wards in Desborough (Loatland and St Giles) and the parishes of Ashley, Brampton Ash, Braybrooke, Dingley, Stoke Albany, Sutton Bassett, Weston by Welland and Wilbarston.
