Gladstone Steet – One Way System

In our ‘Priorities for Desborough’ printed ahead of the Town Council Elections in May 2021 we said –

• Labour Councillors have supported the proposed one-way system in Gladstone Street and will press for the earliest possible start.

After Months of delay work has finally started on making Gladstone Street a One Way Street. The majority of the cost of the work (£76,532. 38) is being funded by the Town Council with a very small contribution from the North Northants Council.

Cllr Jonathan Gardiner has welcomed the work, He says –

‘There is no doubt that this project would never have happened without the funding paid through the Town Council by local people although it looks as if North Northants Council are trying to claim the credit for getting it done on Social Media’
